TRAGEDY AT RAILWAY CROSSING; (Pee United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 25. The fatal railway accident at the Longburn-Rongotea road crossing ou January 16, when a motor car driven by the Rev. Mr Tremain, Anglican minister of Rongotca, was struck by the northbound New Plymouth express, resulting in fatal injuries to the car driver, was the subject of a coronial inquiry to-day. Evidence was given by the driver and the fireman that the crossing was a bad one, because a belt of trees obscured the view for both engine-drivers and road traffic. The trees are now being removed. This was the second fatal accident at this crossing ■ within a fortnight. The coroner expressed the hope that the department would endeavour to have trees removed at all crossings, thereby minimising the danger of collisions. MINOR HEAD INJURIES. An elderly man named David Low, who resides in M'Nee street, Mornington. was admitted to the Hospital last evening suffering from minor injuries to the head. The injuries were received through a fall in Princes street.
