CANADA’S DEVELOPMENT
NEW STEAMER LAUNCHED. (British Official Wireless.) (Preen Association— By Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, January 24. The new Canadian-Pacific steamer Duchess of Bedford, for service between Liverpool and the St. Lawrence, was launched to-day by Mrs Baldwin. The Prime Minister was present, and at a subsequent luncheon ho referred to the immense part played by the Canadian Pacific Railway in the development of Canada. To it they owed the union and the federation of Canada from east to west.
