At Durban, Marylebonc, in the first innings, made 430, and South Africa, in the second innings, 270 for four wickets. Taylor played a typically polished innings. Catterall was enterprising, and scored freely, despite many changes in the bowling. The partnership with Nicolson yielded 10'. rims in 76min.
