Robinson, first assistant master of the Macandrew Road School, left Dunedin yesterday morning on a holiday visit to Christchurch and Taranaki. Death has claimed another of the older citizens of Wanganui in the person of Mrs Stevenson, widow of Mr John Stevenson, who for many years was manager of the Wanganui branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company. The deceased lady (reports our special correspondent) passed away on Christmas morning. She was of a kind and charitable disposition, and -was an enthusiastic worker of the Plunket Society. She leaves a eon and daughter. Auckland is likely to prove popular with Australian visitors early in the year (says our special correspondent). , Following the announcement of a visit by the State Premier of New South Wales (Mr Bavin) comes the information that Miss Elaine de Chair, only daughter of the Governor of New South Wales (Sir Dudley de Chair), will soon arrive in Auckland. It is the intention of Mies de Chair to visit her brother. Sub-lieutenant de Chair, who is' serving in H.M.S. Laburnum, now at Auckland. The State Premier is due in Auckland about the middle of January. He is an ex-pupil of the Auckland Grammar School.
