FIRE IN GLASGOW
A WAREHOUSE DESTROYED. FOUR FIREMEN KILLED. (Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, Depember 25. (Received Dec. 26, at 8.50 p.m.) “ Santa Glaus is scratching matches,” cried a five-year-old boy in a tenement house in Glasgow, when he heard crackling and saw tongues of flame spurt upward. This gave a warning of fire, which destroyed a five-storied- warehouse in a congested district in the city and killed four firemen under the falling walls. Fifty families had to abandon their homes in the bitter cold of Christmas Eve. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
