AN INVALID EARL.
LORD ROSEBERY AT 80. Lord Rosebery, who since his retirement from po.itical life has spout finest of his Umo at the Durdaus, his Epsom home, arrived at Ivnowsiev recently on a short visit to the Earl and Countess of Derby. Although tho ex-Prime Minister’s health has improved in recent months—he is now 80 years of age-it was considered advisable to make use of the carriage offered by the L.M.S. Railway Company. Tho invalid saloon is sumptuously arranged with sleeping and drawing room accommodation and is rarely seen in use. A small crowd gathered round it as it stood m Huston station and admired the big brass bed-lead, with its spotless linen and tho other luxurious furnishings.
1/wd Rosebery, who was in morning dress and carried the silver-topped walkmg-.-tick well known in past, political campaigns, wa.- wheeled to the saloon ear by the chauffeur. As soon a- he entered the bedroom apartment of tho carriage the curtains were drawn.
