SUCCESS OF PROJECT IN CHRISTCHURCH. REGULATIONS AS TO SALE OF FOODSTUFFS. (Special to Dailt Tim -s.) CHRISTCHURCH, December 23. Action has been taken by Dr T. F. Telford (medical officer of health) to compel the stallholders at the new municipal market in Worcester street to comply with regulations of the Health Department relating to the sale of foodstuffs, The lessees of the poultry stall have been given notice that their stall does not comply with the regulations, and that they must cease business. Dr Telford has also stopped the sale of ice cream at another stall. The fruit and vegetable stalls are being allowed to continue business. When approached by a reporter and asked for a statement regarding the action he had taken. Dr Telford said that he was dealing with the stallholders in dividually, and had also made certain recommendations to the City Council. Hi declined to state the natur e of the recom mendatinns. Husine=s at the market was booming to-day, and the public were supporting the p'roject with enthusiasm.
