GERMAN LOCOMOTIVES

NINETY FOR SOUTH AFRICAA SUCCESSFUL TENDER. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright) CAPETOWN, December 20. The Johannesburg Railway Administration has accepted German tenders for the supply of 90 locomotives, costing £550,213. Tenders were received from Britain, America, Germany, and Italy. The technical advisers recommended the Minister of Railways to accept the German tenders after giving the- fullest consideration to the various proposals submitted, also taking into account the various' conditions governing the respective tenders, the quality of the material, and; the workmanship.—A. and N.Z.
