A now experiment in education is being tried at Leeds, where a pair of telephones are being installed at the Central School of Commerce for practical demonstrations in the use of the telephone. The Leeds telephone sy >l.Olll is automatic, so the telephones for school use have automatic dial.-. This is a first step toward providing training in telephone work to young people who are going into offices. Other local authorities who desire similar facilities for this kind of training will probably he able to arrange for them by applying to the Postmaster-general, Business men express hope that the now departure will become general. At present, both time and nmnev are waster! whenever a new junior comes into office and has to be initiated into the mysteries of the telephone.
