MOTOR RECORD BROKEN. TRIUMPH FOR BRITISH CAR. (British Official Wireless.) (Tress Association —By Telegraph Copyright.) RUGBY, December 19. The achievement of Mr and Mrs Victor Bruce of breaking the previous 10,000-mile motor tour record was made more remarkable by 21 hours' delay caused by the skidding and overturning of the car on the frozen Montlhcry track, and the intensely cold weather in which the run was made. Mrs Bruce bore the brunt of the discomfort during the last two days, and her fingers and hands were frostbitten and her left arm almost frozen when finally the course was accomplished. The windscreen had been smashed in an accident, and the motorists would not wait for it to be repaired before resuming the run. They were thus further exposed to the weather. Mrs Bruce was carried from the car shoulder high by enthusiastic spectators. The car, petrol, and oil used were all of British manufacture.
