SPEED OF COUNTY TRAFFIC.
VALIDITY OF A BY-LAW. AN IMPORTANT 'JUDGMENT. (Pee United Press Association.) HAMILTON, December 15. A reserved judgment of considerable importance was delivered in tbo Supreme Court to-day by Mr Justice Ho.tdman in an appeal case brought by the V aipa County Council against Eric Innes Jones, service car proprietor. The validity of a county by-law restricting the speed of traffic" on" its roads to 25 miles an hour was successfully contested by the respondent in the lower court, when Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., held that the by-law was unreasonable This decision is reversed by bis Honor, who allowed the appeal with costs. He said the by-law undoubted!'’ involved interference with public rights, hut if enforced it would prndu.e dcliuite benefits.
