In the international croquet l mrnament, in tho semi-final of the Doubles Championship, Sir Francis Wemyss and W. Richards (England) defeated Mr and Mrs C J. Miller, 26—21. Brilliant croquet wag played by both sides, and the game lasted over two hours. In the final Championship Singles C. J. Miller (Aus tralia) defeated Mrs Hogarth (Australia), 26—4, 26—4, the best two out of three games. In the final of the Doubles Championship Sir Francis Wemyss ind W. The grounds of the application were that he felt he could do more for Australian tennis as an amateur. He added that Be had signed a contract to put his name on a certain racquet.
