AMATEUR SWIMMING.

OTAGO SWIMMING CENTRE. The fortnightly meeting of the Otago Swimming Centre was held last night, Mr J. L. MJlndoe presiding. There were also present: Messrs W. Jenkins, W. H. Saunders, E. G. James, E. H. James, A. Knight, D. Bannatyne, and E. C. Isaacs. AUSTRALIAN TOUR. The Secretary of the Dunedin Club forwarded an application to be allowed to nominate Miss? M. Jepson as the swimmer to accompany Miss K. Miller on her Australian tour, and asking that a recommendation to this effect be forwarded to the New Zealand Centre.—Mr E. 11. James said ho thought that they would not be doing their duty to Miss Jepson if such a recommendation were not forwarded. —The Chairman suggested that the secretary be instructed to write to the New Zealand Council asking if such a nomination were in order, and moved in this direction.—Mr Lewis seconded the motion, which was carried. MACANDREW BAY REGATTA. The Macandrew Bay Regatta Committee forwarded a programme of the swimimng events to be held at the regatta on Boxing Day for the centre’s approval, and requested that the centre appoint officials for the events.—The programme was approved, subject to the payment of the usual fee (10s sd), and Messrs A. Knights and D, Bannatyne were .appointed officials from the centre. DELEGATE’S RESIGNATION. At letter was received from Mr J. S. B. Haigh, enclosing his resignation as a member of th e centre.—Mr Saunders moved, and Mr Jenkins seconded—“ That the letter lie on the table in the meantime.” —The motion was carried. Mr Saunders referred to the conduct of Mr J. Haig during his term as secretary of the centre, and gave notice hat he would move:—“That Mr Haig be requested to attend a special meeting of the centre and show cause whv he should not be suspended; and, further, that Mr Haig be requested to give an account of his stewardship during his term as secretnr“ ’ SCHOOLS’ SWIMMING. The Educational Officer (Mr A. Knights) reported that up to date he had issued 289 certificates, distributed amongst the pupils of 15 State schools.—The report was received, the Chairman remarking that Mr Knights was to b e congratulated on the work he had done amongst the schools. CHAMPIONSHIP NOMINATIONS. The following have been nominated by the Otago Swimming Centre to represent the province at the New Zealand Championships:— 220 Yards, 440 Yards, 880 Yards, and Mile.—C. J. E. M'Lean. 100 Yards.—N. H. Bailey. 220 Yards Breast-stroke.—H. M. Clarke. 150 Yards Backstroke. —W. Boyd. New Zealand Diving Championship.— R. C. Calder. Water Polo.—Otago Team 1. ICO Yards, 220 Yards, 440 Yards Ladies. —Misses Miller and Jepson. Ladies’ Diving Championship.—Misses Foote and Eggars. Intermediate Boys (100yds and 220yds). —O. Holland. Intermediate Ladies (100yds and 220yds). —Miss M. Fleming. 220 Yards Ladies’ Breast-stroke. —Miss V. Scottcn. Junior Boys (100yds, 200yds, and 75yds). Breast-stroke. —R. Geddes. Junior Girls’ (50yds and 100yds) Breaststroke. —Miss D. Murdoch.
