The weather of late has bei characterised by sudden changes, warm, dry days alternating with mild rain, well calculated to rapidly advance the growth of all crops. 11 It is fine growing weather,” the farmers say, “ but we could do with leas rain.” WIRELESS FOR SCHOOLS. The experimental wireless programme broadcasted by the Education Department from 2YA, Wellington, this afternoon was heard very clearly at Balclutha Primary School The principal items were addresses by Mi T. B. Strong (Director of Education), Mr W. W. Bird (chief inspector of schools), and Mr Douglas Taylor (supervisor of music), whose subject was “ Rhythm.’ There were some songs by the girls of Wellington College.
