MURDER IN LONDON
TYPIST FOUND STRANGLED. SIGNS OF FIERCE STRUGGLE. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, October 5. (Received Oct. 6, at 7.30 p.m.) Scotland Yard’s second murder mystery of the week concerns Constance Oliver, a typist, aged 21, who, after having been missing since Sunday, was discovered in Richmond Park strangled by her own clothing. Everywhere there was evidence of a fierce struggle for life, from the trampled ground to the clothing. The face was shockingly bruised. The park keepe found the bmlv in a lonely spot among bushes, and nearby was a girl’s umbrella, broken into four pieces. Marks of identity had been carefully removed from the clothes, but the murderer overlooked a handbag containing the girl’s diary, written in shorthand. Her relations say that Constance made the acquaintance of a man a fortnight ago. Her sister saw the man yesterday, and asked him if he had seen Connie, as her mother was anxious. The man replied. “ My God, I will see your mother,” but he did not. . . The police have issued a description of Sidney Coulter, a motor mechanic. —A, and N.Z. Cable. COULTER QUESTIONED.
