SHOP GIRL'S ROMANCE.
LUCKY SNATCH OF SONG. A romance of fortune that befel a beautiful girl who only a few years ago was employed in a Regent street hat shop, is revealed by the news that, after litigation, she has established her claim tq a strip of valuable land on the French Riviera. The girl is now Mrs Louis- Beaumont, wife of Commander Beaumont, vicef resident of the United States Commercial investment Trust. A few years ago, then poor and unknown, the girl was singing a fragment of opera in the showroom of the Regent street shop. She was overheard by the manager, who was so impressed with her voice that he arranged for her to have training, and eventually she singing as a profession, and gave* recitals in London. Not long afterwards she met Commander Beaumont, and a few months later they were married. One of the bridegroom’s gifts to his bride was a pearl necklace stated to be worth £20,000. later she received from him as a gift a villa and a strip of territory along the coast of the French Riviera. The litigation arose out of a dispute of the title of this property, from which Mrs Beaumont has now emerged successfully.
