RAVENSBOURNE BOATING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The thirtieth annual meeting of the Eavensbounie Boating Club was held last evening in the boating shed. The commodore (Mr 11. E. Muller) presided over a large attendance of members. The Commodore, in moving the adoption of the report, congratulated the club on its success last year. The various races had been well contested, and the racing had been enjoyed by crews and spectators alike. The boys’ model yacht races had been a great success. _ During the year the slip had been rolaid. The committee had supplied the rails, and the work had been carried out by members. The boat shed was in good order, and the members were making full use of the building. The finances of the club were in a sound condition, there being a credit balance of £ls 11s Bd. The regatta had been very successful, the ommitteo giving the people value equivalent for their support. He thanked those who had contributed to the prize fund. It was very pleasing to know that men who owned and raced boats contributed prizes for model yacht racing. The report and balance sheet were adopted. Fourteen new members were elected. The Commodore paid a high tribute to the excellent work carried out by the secretary and treasurer (Mr A. Grant). Before presenting the model yacht prizes Mr Moller said the little boats took almost as expert handling as the big boats. Although the boys wore not called upon to pay a subscription, they were expected to become members of the club when they grew to manhood. All the club expected of the youthful yachtsmen was support in the way of looking after and preventing damage being done to the boats ashore and afloat. The model yacht races bad created considerable interest among the residents, and it was realised that the races were an added ataraction at club races and the regatta. The prizes were awarded as follows: — Yachts (all-comers) —Winifred 1, Eileen 2; motor boats (all-comers) —Maureen 1, Marcwa 2; yachts (IGft and under), first race, Frolic 1, Elsie 2; second race, Colleen 1, Arauui 2. Model yachts, first class (first race) —Vera 1, Thistle 2; •second race—Fern 1. Thelma 2. Second race (first class) —Rata 1, Rothesay 2; second class—Aurora 1, Mala 2. Third race (first class) —Joyce 1, Oriental 2; second class —Thelma 1, Olive 2. Fourth race (first class)—Matuta 1, Gleam 2; second class —Betty 1, Shrimp 2. The model yacht prizes were contributed by Messrs P. Young, A. Grant, E. Montgomery, T. Montgomery, D. M’Phcrson, P. Webber, J. D. Cameron, A. Stewart, A. D. Asher, C. Boswell, F. Shanks, P. O. Wheatley, G. E. Kellctt, D. Borcham, H. E. Moller, and J. M'Phorson. It was decided that the matter of opening day and the fixing of dates for club races and the regatta be left to the new committee. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—Commodore, Mr H. E. Moller; vice-corn modores —Messrs D. Webber. J. M'Phcr son, W. J. P. M'Culloch, and G. E. Kellott; captain, Mr D. Gordon, J. D. Cameron, and P. Young; delegates to Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association, Messrs 1C Boswell and A. D. Asher; Model Yacht Committee— Messrs T. Montgomery, E. Montgomery, A. Stewart, D. Borcham, and W. Carlin. PORT CHALMERS ROWING CLUB. The annual meeting of the Port dial mers Rowing Club was held in the Council Chambers, and was presided over by Mr J. Y. Love, president of the club. In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the Chairman referred to various club activities, adding that he was personally much interested in promoting its welfare. Ho congratulated the members on their fine record during the past season, and the credit balance now in their favour. The two new practice boats had proved a great boon to training. The club now had a plant that was well worth looking after. The history of the club went back for 51 years, and during that period very fine records stood to the credit of various past oarsmen. That should serve as an incentive to young oarsmen to maintain the prestige of their club. Ho wished them every success during the ensuing season, and would be pleased to present another set of medals. Mr Peters and Mr Anderson also referred to club matters, and said they were pleased that the club was progressing so favourably. The following officers w r ero elected for the year:—Mr J. Y.
