DEATH OF MRS WILKINSON. (Press Association—By , Telegraph—Copyright ) MELBOURNE. August 30. Mrs Wilkinson has succumbed to her injuries. A message received on Friday stated that a soldier settler, Francis Wilkinson, and his wife and child were found in their home at Stanhope with the heads of the wife and child battered with a hammer, and Wilkinson's throat cut with a razor. The man and the child were dead, and the wife was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. It is believed that an attempt was made to strangle Mrs Wilkinson before she was battered with the hammer, as .a cord was tightly drawn 'around her neck. Wilkinson suffered from nerves, and it is stated that his wife recently told a neighbour that he had threatened to end all this ’’ presently: Wilkins-n was 38 years of age.
