CONCERT AT WAKARI.

On Saturday evening a concert conducted by Mr B. Rawlinson and party was held in the Wakari School Hall for the purpose of raising funds to renew the asphalting in the girls’ playground. Mr W. Cubitt, chairman of the School Committee, presided. There was a .arge attendance, and hearty applause greeted the nerformers. The following contributed to the programme:—Mr B. Rawlinson and party; pianoforte solo. Miss J. Cubitt; songs—Mrs Stenhouse, Misses 11. Stubbs, and Messrs Rawlinson, Montague, and M’Laren; recitations, Miss H. Ness and Master T. Ness. A hearty vote of thanks to the performers and those who had assisted otherwise, proposed by Dir Fawcett, and carried by acclamation, brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.
