GOLD IN NEW GUINEA
RICH REEFS DISCOVERED. MANY LEASES PEGGED OUT. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ) SYDNEY, August 29. The report of the . company’s field manager regarding the recent discovery of reef gold at Edie Creek (New Guinea) says that the warden’s assay showed the value to be not less than 20oz of free gold to the ton, and the geological formation of lode assured its living to a great depth. A director of the company, who is visiting Sydney, states that further discoveries of rich lodes and quartz reefs in the'Edie district resulted in the pegging out of many leases. He added that indications showed the location of a permanent rich reefing, field, which promises t) be the best since the peggim? out of the famous Golden Mile at Kalgoorlie.
