MUNICIPAL MILK SUPPLY.

CONSIDERATION IN CHRISTCHURCH (Special to Dail? Times.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 29. The question of the Christchurch Dairy Farmers’ and Vendors’ Association amalgamating with the Sealed Bottle Milk Vendors’ Association has been held over until after the special meeting of the Milk Supply Committee of the City Council and experts to-morrow. This decisimi was arrived at by the committee of the Christchurch Dairy Farmers’ and Vendors’ Association this afternoon. An offer of help in the event of the Christchurch milk supply being made*! municipal one was forthcoming from the Wellington Suburbs’ Farmers’ Association, which stated: “ This association has, of necessity, had to appear before Parliament practically every session for the last nine years to overcome the damning of the Wellington City Council’s initial legislation, Should the Christchurch association require documentary evidence dealing with milk matters between the Wellington Council and. the farmers it will be fur nished Everything possible should be done to prevent a similar set of conditions from being foisted on another community of farmers, no matter in what part of tho country they may be situated. The pitfalls overcome by experience are too cosily to be recurring. Enclosed is a copy of a memorandum circulated in the of Representatives last session, which gives a fair idea of what the farmers around Wellington had been up against.” The letter was received.
