“He will successfully complete everythin)? he undertakes.” This was the estimate made of Captain Lindbergh in 1925 by an examining officer of the Missouri National Guard when he applied for a first lieutenancy in its air corps, _ and disclosed in the records of the militia bureau of the War Department at Washington. When Lindbergh was promoted to a captaincy in 1926, in the National Guard, he was described in the official reports as " purposeful, cpiick of reaction, alert, congenial, intelligent, and conscientious, and efficient in the performance of his duties.” Other records of the bureau, say: “He is a man of good moral habits and regular in all business transactions, honest energetic, dependable, ambitious, hard-work-ing, intelligent.”
