THE POULTRY INDUSTRY.
DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. UNDERSTANDING WITH BAKERS. (Special to Daxlt Times.) WELLINGTON, April 14. A deputation from the poultry industry to-day asked the Hon. O. J. Hawken to bond Mr F. Brown, chief poultry instructor, to represent the New Zealand eggKluccrs at the Poultry Congress to bo at Ottawa. Tho need for an understanding between the producers and the bakers and pastrycooks in regard to local requirements was also stressed. Regarding Mr Brown, the Minister said the newspapers were beginning to talk about Government officers being too much away. However, ho would consider the request. He would like to send him as the industry had become highly commercialised and should have nil tho information possible. He did not know that legislation could be introduced in regard to agg supplies to bakers and pastrycooks. If tho association notified the bakers they must slate their requirements before the end of October, and the onus would bo upon tho bakers. Tho Minister did not think the public would blame the producers if tho trades were short.
