AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH BAND.
The second programme of the Australian Commonwealth Silver Band was presented at ilis Alajesty’s Theatre last evening. The hand lias in its ranks many of the (incest instrument a lists in Australia, and the musi it disi-ourses is ns varied as it is excellent. The repertoire embraces grand opera, sacred, music, martial selections, and popular ragtime, each being rendered with great skill. Air Arthur Slender conducts tho band through a long programme in which tedious interlude,? are reduced to an absolute minimum. The programme Inst night was greatly appreciated by a good house. The selection of items lias been made by one who knows well what pleases the public most, and the fact that the entertainment is so different from tho usual run of hand concert programmes allows a dull moment from start to finish. The band will render another programme tonight.
