PLEA FOR LENIENCY IGNORED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, February 11. George Dosylla Zucco, an actor, who, before the Chief Justice (Sir Charles Skcrrett), was found guilty of indecent exposure in a picture theatre in June, and recommended to leniency on account of war disabilities, was dealt with. In sentencing Zucco, his Honor said that probation or punishment by fine, or ordering to come up if called upon, were out of the questionin the present case. The time might come when such offences could be treated curatively. Meanwhile women had to be protected. It must be remembered that many acts like accused’s went unpunished, because women did not like publicity. He would he doing his duty to the public, and also giving weight to the jury’s recommendation, if he passed a sentence of six months, accused to be kept apart from hardened criminals.
