The Dairy Produce Board has received the following cabled, advice from its agents in Canada, dated January 22:—Butter: New York, 47£ cents (Is 113 d), statistical position improving; Montreal, 41j -cents (Is 8|d); San Francbco, 49 cents (2s O^d). Cheese; Montreal, 19i cents (9gd); market firm. Scott Bros., produce merchants and commissioh agents, agents for the Egg and Poultry Growers’ Association, Dunedin, report:—Eggs quiet; stamped, guaranteed. Is 8d; fresh Is 6jd. Butter: Dairy pats in over supply 9d per lb; bulk Is. Honey: Wanted, prime bulk s£d per lb; 101 b tins 6s 6d each. Beeswax, Is 3d to Is 4d per lb. Fat, 23s to 26s par cwt. Poultry; Hens 3s to 3s 6d per pair Ducks: Good, 5s to 7s per pair. Geese, 4s to 6s each. Turkeys: Hens Is 2d, gobblers Is 4d per lb. Pigs: Prime baconers 8d per lb, porkers 8d per lb; overweights 4d per lb. Potatoes; Very slow, £6 to £6 10s per ton. Chaff; Prime oaten sheaf. £4 15s to £5 5s per ton, sacks extra. Whole fowl wheat 8s per bushel. Onions: Prime £l3 10s per ton. Maize 8s per bushel. Oats 3s 6d per bushel, sacks extra. Straw: Pressed wheaten £3 10s, oaten £4 10s, clover and ryegrass hay £5 per ton, ex store. Please Note. —Pigs and poultry must arrive not later than Thursday in the week.
