GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT.
Messrs Donald. Reid and Co. (Ltd.) report as under: Oats. —The market remains quiet. Merchants are still striving to quit tho balance of their last year’s purchases. A few small lines have changed hands during the past week, but a fair quantity still remains to be sold. Wheat.—The demand for fowl wheat is quiet. Good whole fowl wheat is selling at 7s 6d per bushel, sacks extra. Chaff.—Only prime quality is saleable and supplies are sufficient to meet local requirements. We quote, prime quality £5 10s per ton, sacks extra, ex truck. Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Ltd.) report as follows: Oats.—There is no change in this market. Tho demand is negligible, and it is difficult to say just what present values are. Wheat.—There is a small but regular demand and prices are unchanged. Good whole fowl wheat is realising 7s 6d per bushel, sacks extra. Chaff.—Very little chaff is coming forward, but as there is not a strong inquiry prices are unchanged. Prime lots are bringing up to £5 10s per ton. sacks extra. Any other lines are unsaleable.
