WASHING EIDERDOWNS .
Eiderdowns which have lost their first freshness can he washed satisfactorily at homo. Prepare plenty of warm, soapy water and wadi by kneading and squeezing. After rinsing thoroughly they may safely he put through a rubber wringer and should then lie shaken viorously. Tf possible, ehoosp a windy day and dry ouf-nf-doors. Continue to shake frequently during and after drying to separate the down. Thorough airing i< essential, during which the eiderdown should again he shaken in front of the (ire. Tf the sateen cover looks creased it may ho smoothed, very lightly with a warm iron before it is quite dry.
