THE WAR MEMORIAL.
TO THB EDITOR. Sib, —Under influence of the article in your issue of this morning, referring to the War Memorial, we beg to hand you herewith cheque for £25, supplementing our subscription of a similar sura given in April, 1922. It is more than disappointing that such a large proportion of the sum required is still wanting, and, whatever the individual views as to its form may have been, surely it must now be agreed that it has taken a shape that is not onlv peculiarly suitable and attractive but particularly well placed. We trust your appeal will be generously responded to, and what is a distinct blot on the patriotism and generosity of Dunedin promptly wiped out.— We are, etc., J. Rattray and Son (Ltd.). Dunedin, January 22.
