THE DETHRONED SHAH
IN STRAITENED CIRCUMSTANCES. REDUCED TO SELLING SCENT. (Press Association— B? Teieg.aph—Copyright.) PARIS, December 22. (Received Dec, 22, at 8 p.m.) The ex-Shah of Persia is about to open a perfumer’s shop, which will specialise in the sale of Oriental scents. Since his dethronement he has been living frugally in Paris, unable to frequent the restaurants and cabarets, of which he was once an honoured patron. Indeed his finances are so low that he had to part with a number of his jewels.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
