Burnside, Wednesday, December 22. Fat Cattle. —There was a yarding of 260 head, consisting of medium and prime bullocks. with a fair proportion of cows and heifers. The sale opened at an increase of 10s to 15s on last sale, but the advance was not maintained, and generally prices could be quoted firm at last week’s values. Generally, values could be quoted Is 6d better on the average compared with last sale. Fat Lambs.—The entry of 2378 consisted of medium to well-finished lambs. The quality, however, could not be compared with that of the previous year, duo no doubt to the backward season. GORE, December 22. The fortnightly stock sale was held at M‘Nab yesterday in fine weather, in the presence of a small attendance of farmers. Hie sale was dull throughout and very little business was transacted. Fat Sheep.—A small offering of,. 31 was submitted, and as the butchers were not operating no wethers changed hands, the best offer for shorn ones being 26s 9d, and for woolly sorts 355. A few fat lambs realised from 24s to 26s 3d. Store Sheep.—There was only 318 penned and prices for what changed hands were equal to what has been ruling of late. Ewes and lambs realised from 15s lOd to 16s 9d. Store wethers and owe hoggets were unsaleable. ■ Fat Cattle.—A yarding of 18 head was offered, and business was very slack. Cows and heifers of medium quality changed hands at from £4 10s to £6 10s. Store Cattle.— There was an ottering ot 33 head, but there was little competition for what was sold.
