MOTHERCRAFT TRAINING.
SOCIETY’S POUND DAY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) LONDON, November 4. This afternoon was “Pound Day” at the Mothercraft Training Society’s headquarters. Cromwell House, Highgate. Lady Galway (chairman of the received Miss Gladys Cooper, who arrived with the Hon. Mrs Hoare. Gifts in kind were brought by the numerous visitors, and these were graciously received by the popular actress. They consisted of generous supplies of sugar, tea, butter, vegetables, and other useful comestibles. In addition, there were gifts in money amounting to £SO, and a number of cheques came by post. Among those present were the Hon. Mrs Hardinge. Lady Stern. Lady Glenconner, Mrs Jewesbury, and Mrs Leslie Harris. For. the first time since these gift-days were instituted, Lady Allen was absent. She greatly regretted not being able to attend, but she is sailing for New Zealand to-morrow. Her interest in the society has been continuous and practical, and she will be much missed.
