RIMUTAKA’S MEAT
SOLD TO THE SOAPMAKERS. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, December 19. (Received Dec. 20, at 5.5 p.m.) The Port of London Authority sought the destruction of a quantity of the Rimutaka’s fire-damaged meat, which the underwriters had sold as fat to merchants at 87s 6d per ton. The West Ham Bench ordered the meat to be returned to the vendors for disposal to soapmakers in order to prevent it from entering into human consumption.—Sydney Sun Gable.
