RESIGNATION OF PRESIDENT. (Freei Association—By Telegraph—Copy right, J KOVNO, December 19. M. Grintius, the Lithuanian President, has resigned.—A. and N.Z. Cable. NEW GOVERNMENT FORMED. KOVNO, December 19. (Received Dec. 20, at 5.5 p.m.) President Grimius authorised Professor Val de Marus, the new Prime Minister, to form a Government which is legalising the recent occurrences. General Smethona has accepted the post of Chief of Staff until a popular vote settles the situation. Martial law prevails, but everything is otherwise normal.—Sydney Sun Cable. THE VALUE OF EXAMPLE.
