A VAGUE ADDRESS.
LETTER FROM PERSIA. HAZY NOTIONS OF DOMINION. (Special to Daily Times.) WELLINGTON, December 20. “Finance Ministry, New Zealand, America.” 1£ there is a map of the world in Persia to which the Government officials have access it must be rather out of date Otherwise, the address given above would not have been the inscription _on the envelope which enclosed an official letter the Acting Prime Minister (the Hon. W D. Stewart) has received from Teheran (Persia). The contents of the communication, which is made under the date of November 1, suggest that, as far as Teheran is concerned, the Dominion is better known from a legislative than a geographical point of view. The letter was couched m the following terms:— “We are much interested here in a re vision of the existing system of land taxation, and in the establishment of a modern system of title legislation. I am informed that New Zealand has a model system in connection with both of_ these matters, and will be greatly obliged if you can give nie any available information in connection therewith including copies of the laws and regulations, and of the forms used in their application.” '
