(Received Dec. 10, at 11.50 p.m.) New South Wales, in its second innings against Queensland, has seven wickets down for 557 (Steele 78, Phillips .144, Andrews 33, Kippax 182, Jackson 78 not l\i oppressive heat the match sumed on. a good wicket. Steele and Phillips made a fine first-wicket stand, bringihg the total to 186 before the partnership was severed, Joth men batted bril* liantly, and never missed an opportunity of adding to the score. Eippax, who was unaffected by frequent changes in tfle bowling, banged the balls to all parts of the field, and was never apparently troubled. The' remaining batsmen also treated the attack contemptuously, and severely trounced the bowling, which apparently. lacked sting. In the first innings New South Wales made 287 and Queensland 577.
