BROWN COAL
AN ADVOCATE OP RESEARCH. VALUABLE NEW ZEALAND DEPOSITS. (press Association—By Telegraph—Cop-right.) LONDON, December 9.. Addressing the Institute of Fuel Technology, an eminent authority, Sir R. A. S. Redmayne, pointed out that there had been little research affecting brown coal, considering the commercial possibilities of the vast deposits within the Empire. Ho described the Latrobe Valley (Victoria) deposits ns the most remarkable in the world, though the New Zealand deposits were the most valuable. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
