A. CHRISTMAS MESSAGE. A TRIBUTE FROM PALESTINE. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, December 9. A Christmas message from the Jewish community of Richon Lezion, Palestine, to the men of the New Zealand Mounted Rifles and the Australian Light Horse has been received by the New Zealand Herald, the writer being Mr Leo Antischislawsky, who signs himself Old Grateful Farmer.” Each year since the Anzazc troops left Palestine a similar message has been received. “The population of Richon Lezion and district,” runs the letter, “after eight years of separation, sends their cordial salute by the occasion of Christmas to the chivalrous Anzacs. Happy Christmas. Happy New Year. “Australian and New Zealand mounted troops camped at Richon Lezion, you won the highest praise for your splendid valour right throughout the campaign, and no less than your valour in battle was your chivalry to the people of the country. How much of the cheerfulness and the Kimnlicitv of character Rave you carried away? We wish you all well. We wish you a safe and pleasant life. The writer then quotes a letter received bv him from a padre upon an occasion when he had made a present of oranges and almonds to the troops.
