An interesting stage has been reached in the work of building the new organ in the Christchurch Cathedral, and although it will take several more months to complete the installation it is possible for visitors to gain an idea of the intricate mechanism of the instrument (states the Press). When completely installed the organ will cost the cathedral authorities about £II,OOO, but they will have the satisfaction of knowing that they have the most up-to-date instrument in the Dominion. It is being supplied by a famous London firm of organ binders, who have sent out a representative to carry out the installation.
