WANGANUI, December 9. ‘ '1 he weather wins la vonrablc for training operations on the Wanganui tracks this morning, and the course was m splendid order. No. 1 grass tracks was open for fast, work, of which there was not a grout deal done, but what galloping there was was of an interesting nature. Ridden by a light boy El.vsianor was galloped half a mile, and was not pushed, to return in 51 the first two taking 24 3-5,-iCC. The Elysian irelding is to race at Awapano durin gtho holidays. The Auckland Cup candidate ..-task, ridden by a light-weight, went a mile by himself and gave an impressive display. The first quarter ’took 23 3-ssec, after which ho got into his stride , properly, cutting out the half-mile in 51sec, six furl on"* in Imin Ibsec, and a mile in Imin 42 2-sseo. This was very good going, the last six furlongs being run in Imin 16 l-ssec. The Limond gelding was carrying in the vicinity of ist. or a stone less than he has in the big Kilerslie race. Very light boys wqre also on Lysander and The Thorn when they we.ro sent out to run six furlongs, looking big and well and lull of life. The Thorn jumped ofl two and a-half lengths ahead of the colt, but the three-year-old was quickly with him. Crossing tho top Lysander held a slight advantage, which ho increased in tho straight, and he passed the post a clear two lengths in front of his stable mate. Lysiihder had tho outside running, and ho was wide out at tho finish. They ran the first twm furlongs in 25 l-ssec, three in 35 l-ssec, half tnilo in 4Ssoc, and six fmlongs in Imin 15 l-ssec. Civility is looking all tho better for her trip to Podding, where she was not started on account of Iho going. She was sent six furlongs in company with Star Area, the latter having a decided pull in tho weights as well ns being unshod. The result of their effort was a brilliant gallop They reeled off the first couple of furlongs in 23 4-ssec, three furlongs in 35 3-sseo, half a mile in 47 l-ssec, and six in Imin 15 l-ssec, with Civility passing tho post well clear of her companion. Diamond Ring, who appears to liavo made a big improvement of late, was associated with Hnlgina in a bout over sixbirlongs, and without being pushed she was clear of him at tho end in Imin 18 4-ssec, the first half-mile being covered in 50 l-ssec. Iho two-year-old Paleta loft three furlongs behind in 38sec. Ho is to race at Awapime. After breakfast Allowny, a Podding winner, was worked over six furlongs the reverso way, and striding out nicely under a steady rein all the journey, did the first two in 26 4-ssec, the half-mdo in 52 2-550 C, and iix furlongs in Imin 13 4-sseo,
