The members of the Presbyterian Young Men’s Bible Class (North-East Valley), on Saturday evening entertained the orphans of the Glendining Home by means of a very enjoyable concert. The chief item was a play entitled “Oliver Ttfist,” which brought into contrast the orphanages of old and those of the present day. The following took part in the production of the play:—-Messrs F. Byford, 8. M'Laren. E. Vivian, A. Vivian, Alf. Price, J. Mitchell, and H. Manson. Mr Robert K. Macfie (choirmaster) and the members of the choir presented a varied programme as follows: —Mr L. Stuart, song: Mr Doug. Watson, recitation; Mr C. Watson, song; Mr Lex Hollow, banjo solo; Mr Robert K. Macfie, song. _ There were choruses by the choir, selections by the Bible class orchestra, community singing, and solos by two of the orphans. Sweets and fruit were handed to the boys, and Mr Malcolmson, the superintendent, gratefully thanked the Bible class for the entertainment, inviting them to come again.
