BULLET FIRED THROUGH WINDOW. PROFESSOR HEWINS STARTLED. (Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, November 25. (Received Nov. 25, at 8 p.m.) Professor W. A. Hewins, who is wellknown in connection with economic subjects, was sitting with his wife in the dining room of their house in Chester square when a revolver was fired at the house. The bullet was deflected by an iron railway, and went through a basement window. The professor rushed to the front door and saw a woman disappearing. He says he has no enemies so far as he knows. His wife heard firing in the square during the night a week ago. The police insist on protection being provided night and day.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
