STRUCK BY BUS.

CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. VERDICT FOR PLAINTIFF. (Special to .Jaily Times.) WELLINGTON, November 25. A collision between a motor car and a bus in Jcrvois Quay in September lasi had its sequel in the Magistrate’s Court to-day when A. J. M’Gowan, of Australasia Films (New Zealand), Ltd., claimed damages from the Wellington and Suburban Motor Bus Company. Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., was on the Bench. The plaintiff said he was driving along Jervois Quay , at 2.30 p.m. on September 6. He drew up for the purpose of crossing the road, end put out his hand to show his intention of doing so, and at that moment the defendant company’s bus crashed into him from behind. It shifted his car 15ft, and running on collided with a horse-drawn vehicle owner by Messrs Adams and Blyth. A witness for the plaintiff said that h© estimated the speed of the bus at 55 miles an hour, H© had measured the skid marks of the bus which he found had skidded 66ft before it struck the. plantiff’s car and another 15ft before striking the other vehicle. The defendant did not appear and judgment was given for the plaintiff for £25 with costs.
