EGYPTIAN AFFAIRS

OPENING OF PARLIAMENT. WAFDIST MOVEMENT REVIVING. (Press Association—By Telegraph -Copyright.) LONDON, November 18. (Received Nov. 19, at 9 p.m. ) The Cairo correspondent of The Times says that King Fuad, at the opening of Parliament, emphasised that Anglo-Egyp-tian relations were most friendly and mutual confidence was daily growing stronger. Zaghlul Pasha was re-elected President of the Chamber. He said he prayed that the Almighty would help Parliament w safeguard the constitution and preserve the country from intrigues. It was noticeable that students greeted the King as he was driving to Parliament with proZaghlulist cries, suggesting that the Wafdists are reviving. The students’ activities were formerly an outstanding feature of their political organisation.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
