“TANKS” IN THE AIR
EXPERIMENTS IN BRITAIN. LONDON, November 3. The Air Ministry is experimenting with “flying tanks” —heavily-armoured aeroplanes weighing four tons and intended for use in low-flying raids on troops in trenches and on the march. These machines will probably be the forerunners of giant armoured aeroplanes weighing as much as 30 tons and carrying a battery of quickfirers.
