King George is a voracious devourer of magazines and books. The Prince of Wales has little time to read. But he writes excellent alert letters, spicy with humour and observation; and although people do not know it, he keeps a regular diary. The Prince's diary is written out every evening, carefully, in pencil, with that round calligraphy which typifies the Prince’s neatness and love of order. Some of the comments in this journal are admirable pen-pictures and potted biographies.
