DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. Buyers have increased their offer for Bank of New Zealands by 3d on the Dunedin Stock Exchange during the past week, but a margin o£ i)d remains. Rights are practically unchanged. There is still no offer for Commercials, and inquiry for Nationals at £7 has not attracted a reply. Buyers' quotation for Unions is Is wsaker than it was at the end of last week. Sellers ask £ls 5s 6d. Inquiry was made for Western Australian Banks at sds Ed yesterday, but no shares were available. Brewery stocks are quiet. No offer is made for New Zealand Breweries, though sellers have reduced their quotations to 62s Ed. Debentures ara wanted at 24s 6d, an improvement of 3d. Nationals are the only insurance shares in demand. Buyers will give 78s, but sellers ask Is more Sellers of South British will take 58s 6d, and Standards are on offer at 50s 9d. Tnero is little interest in shipping stocks. The preference issue of Huddart, Parkers and •Union Steams are both wanted at 20s 4d without sellers. Westport Coals are still without buyers, sellers asking 38s. An improved offer of £3l is made for New Zealand Loan and Mercantile ords., but sellers will sot talte less than £9B. Buyers’ offer of Els Ed for Perpetual Trustees is still unsatisfied. No inquiry is made for Wright, Stephenson ords., though sellers are asking Is less. Gear Meats are wanted at 3Es, but sellers have failed to quote. No offer made for either issue of New Zealand Refrigeratings. The paid-un issue can be obtained at 15s, and sellers* ask 7s Id for the contributing shares, which were eold at 7s a few days ago Auckland Amusement barks have been quoted during the week. The ords. are wanted at 2s premium, but there is no inquiry for the preference shares, which are on oiler at 5s premium. There are at present no buyers for Dominion Rubbers, which are offered at 51s. A seller quoted at 50s 3d on Thursday. A margin of 3d separated the quotations for Milburn Lime and Cements yesterday, buyers offering 31s. Guarantee Corporations are without sellers, although buyers will give 10s 9d. The best offer for Paper Mills is 18s 3d, but sellers are reticent. Sellers make no response to an offer of 9s for Taranaki Oils. Wilsons Cements are wanted at 33s 9d, but sellers are standing fast at 345. The improvement in ICawaraus has continued, but there has been no business in spite of buyers' offer of 2s lOd. Sellers ask 2s lid. Electrolytic Zincs (pref.) were wanted at 37s during the week, but the beat offer at present is 36s 9d, Mount Lyells are still in demand at 27a Ed, with a seller at 28a 2d. A buyer of the A issue of St. Bathans offered 3s Ed premium yesterday, but sellers asked 2s 3d more. B’s were not quoted.
