ENGINEERING STRIKE
A SETTLEMENT EFFECTED. SYDNEY DISPUTE ENDS. (Pres. Association —By Telegraph—OopjTlgllt.l SYDNEY, November 32. The engineers’ strike at Messrs Dobson Wormald and Co.’s has been settled, and the men have returned to work. It was agreed' to refer the dispute to a conference between the men's representatives and the management. ■ Arising out of a dispute on October 12 over the alleged employment of boy labour on machine drills, the engineers at. Messrs Dobson, Wormald, and Co.’s works struck. It was reported to the Labour Council’s Disputes Committee .that Maltese and Greeks had been engaged by the management. Contending that this was done for the purpose of breaking the strike, the rest of the union members employed by the firm withdrew.
