ACROSS THE DESERT
NAIRN MOTOR SERVICE. DAMASCUS TO BAGDAD. LONDO'' November 4. According to the correspondent of the Times, Mr Norman Nairn, the New Zealander, who designed a desert motor bus SOft long, has returned to Bagdad from the United States. He has completed plans for the Nairn 'Pastern Transport Company, and hopes to have mail convoys running from Damascus to Randnil in November. He is erecting a huge electrically equipped repairing garage in Damascus, Mr Nairn, who with his brother runs the transport-Decen- from Beirut to Bagdad proposes to use a neet of hallr dozen of his buses, which are 50ft long, have six wheels, travel at 23 miles an hour, and carry 16 na<=sengers each.
