(Received Sept. 27, at 11.15 p.m.) Placide Joseph Dncrest, who on September 16 was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment for smuggling aliens into the United States, has not yet entered the penitentiary, but has been taken to San Francisco for questioning in connection with the theft of bullion from the steamer Sonoma in 1921.
